Operating Room

Cosmetic surgeries are usually done in a facial plastic surgeon's private surgical facility or in a hospital. Surgery done in the hospital may incur an additional hospital fee. Physical examination, bloodwork, understanding and signing of the consent form and preoperative photographs are some of the things that are done well in advance of the surgery. Bloodwork is no longer required for healthy patients between the ages of 16 to 55. Special instructions are given to each patient. These will indicate to the patient the length of time to abstain from eating or drinking prior to surgery, as well as individual instructions for the specific type of cosmetic surgery involved.

In The Operating Room

In the operating room, an intravenous line will be started to administer pain and mood control medications. The patient will then be monitored continuously with special equipment to ensure that blood pressure, heart beat, and blood oxygen level are maintained throughout the procedure. Many surgeries are done under local anesthetic with sedation. There is little or no pain and most people do not remember the operation afterwards. Surgery can be done under general anaesthesia when required or specifically requested by the patient in the clinic or in the hospital.

Apart from two modern anesthetic and recovery room set-up, there are numerous modern equipment including different kinds of lasers, photofacial machines, endoscopic instrument, ultrasonic liposuction, microdermabrasion, facial contouring equipment etc. The facility is also equipped with a gas-deliver generator to continue service in case of power shortage.
